Dear colleagues,

Here is my proposal for this weekend:

Classification: P1T1 (6.9 km)

Climbing up distance: 600 m
Climbing time: 2h30
Total hiking time: 4h30
Starting point: Col de Bassachaux (1778 m)
Meeting point: Val Thoiry at 10h00 am in brasserie Le Sabayon

Access: Take motorway to Montreux. Continue till Bex (before St.Maurice) and get out of the motorway. Take the road to Monthey and then to the French border (Chatel). 12 km after Monthey we find the last Suisse village before France, Morgins. Chatel is 3 km far from Morgins. At the high of the cementry of Chatel turn sharply left (always direction South-West) following road D228 passing by Sous Vonnes, la Christanie, le Moulin, Tres les Pierres, les Masses, Chalets de Plaine Dranse and la Mouille Ronde. Soon after we will arrive to Col de Bassachaux (terminus of the road). Park there. Trip from Val Thoiry to "Col de Bassachaux" should take ~1h40.

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.

Have a lovely weekend! Cheers! Jose.
