Days are becoming shorter and somehow we are obliged to optimize the timing of our outings by using whatever means are at our reach. At the same time we try to enhance our goals. This is the first time we go to Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard and, therefore, we may find some surprises. Literature does not indicate any particular difficulty. We will see it! Here is my proposal for this day:

| Access: | Motorway to Martigny. In Martigny follow indications to Bourg St. Bernard and Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard. Park to the left hand side in arriving to Le Hospice. The distance from Geneva to Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard are some 180 km. The trip from Manora to the col may take 2h. |

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.
