Excursion 11

28, 29, 30 and 31 July 2006

Dear colleagues,

This three-and-a-half days long round trip is our second more than 3000 m outing in the session. The altitude above 3000 m makes this outing harder due to the lower concentration of oxigen and to the long paths covered by snow. CRAMPONS and PIOLET are likely to be required for the second day. This trip requires a minimum logistics since we are going to stay for three nights in the mountain. Threfore, some reservations should be made for sleeping/dinning in various mountain huts. Typically you must be in the huts before 18h30. If you plan to participate in this outing, please book in the following huts: 1) Friday 28th of July (night) "Grenairon, 1949 m", Tel: +33(0)4.50.34.47.31/+33(0)4.50.34.12.15. 2) Saturday 29th of July (night) "Pierre a Berard, 1924 m", Tel: +33(0)4.50.54.62.08/+33(0)4.50.54.63.45 (~30 euros 1/2 pension). 3) Sunday 30th of July (night) "Moede-Anterne, 2002 m ", Tel: +33(0)4.50.93.60.43/+33(0)4.50.78.02.09 (40 euros 1/2 pension). It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.

Have a lovely weekend! Cheers! Jose.
