This third trip is the final preparation for our foreseen long trip on the last weekend on July to the Buet. Actually we will go higher than Le Buet which is only 3100m high, but the path is easier, sustained and without technical difficulty. However, due to the early time in the session it is strongly recommended the obtaining of CRAMPONS in case the snow or ice conditions require them. Hiking gaiters are also advisable. Here is the proposal for this weekend:
Date: | Saturday, 15 July 2006 |
Site: | Hut of Tete Rousses (3185 m) |
Classification: | Medium but hard due to altitude. |
Altitude: | 3185 m (highest point) |
Climbing up distance: | 809 m |
Climbing time: | 3h |
Total hiking time: | 5h30 |
Starting point: | Le Nid d'Aigle (2372 m) |
Meeting point: | CERN outside flags parking at 7h30 |
Remarks: | Initiation to high mountain trips. Views over Bionnasay and over the easy way to the Montblanc. |
Access: | "Autoroute Blanc" till the TMB (Tramway du Mont-Blanc) station in Le Fayet. TMB leaves at 9h10 am and at 10h15. The trip to Le Fayet should take about 1 hour 10 minutes |

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.
Have a lovely weekend! Cheers! Jose.
