This excursion, as the very first outing of the session is adequate for all non-competitive kind of persons. Despite of the good weather and the low altitude, I believe that we should still find some snow. Therefore, I emphasize the interest of wearing warm clothes. Here is my proposal:

Access: | One has to arrive to St.Gingolph, a village in the Swiss-French border at the other side of the Leman lake. The car access to St.Gingolph can be through Evian ( 1 hour 20 minutes) or taking the motor way to Montreux and taking the first way out after it ( 1 hour 10 min.). Once in St.Gingolph take road D30 to Novel (at about 8 km). In Novel drive up to the left crossing the center of the village. After 2 km there is an opening where cars can be left. The trip from CERN to "South-west Novel village" will take 1 h 30 m. |

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.
I hope weather conditions will allow an enjoyable excursion! Cheers! Jose.
