Remarks: | Panoramics over all the Aravis chain and the Mont Blanc. The way down on the side of the lake is a bit difficult but it is equiped with cables. After passing by the lake one should not miss a path that leads to "Col des Porthets" bordering at half hight the fall of Charvin. One ha to climb some 200m to arrive to the right valley. |
Access: | From Thones, that can be reached either from Annecy orfrom St Jean de Sixt, we must take the route D12 to Serravat. Once there take D162 to Le Bouchet. One km after Le Bouchet take forestal road to the left driving across Banderelle, Les Provards, La Savatte and Le Plan. Continue along the same forestal road for about 5 km to arrive to the site of "Les Fontanettes". Park there. The trip to "Les Fontanettes" may take 1h40. |

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.
Have a lovely weekend! Cheers! Jose.
