This second outing, similarly to the first one, does not require of any technical skill. It is again short and easy and in low altitude. It is part of the training to recuperate a reasonable physical shape before undertaking other adventures. Here is my proposal:

Access: | Motorway direction to Chamonix. Take out in Bonneville. Take route D12 to St. Jean-de-Sixt and then D909 to Thones. In Thones take route D12 and then D16 to Manigod. Continue and 1 km after Manigod take route to the right which drives to Le Col de Plan Bois passing by Plan-des- Berthats. Park nearby the Restaurant-Bar of the Col. Driving time from CERN: 1h30 |

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm globes, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.
