After a long break and profiting of the hopefully good weather it may be a good idea to re-start our hiking trips until exhausting the few weekends before winter.
Here is my proposal for this Sunday:
Date: | Sunday, 18 October 1998 |
Site: | Montenvers (2200 m) |
Classification: | Medium |
Altitude: | 2200 m. (highest point) |
Vertical distance to climb: | 1154 m. |
Climbing time: | 3 hours 30 minutes |
Total hiking time (both ways): | 7 hours |
Starting point: | Le Biollay (1046 m) |
Remarks: | |
Access: | Motorway to Chamonix. There, before crossing the railway turn right to Le Biollay (near the cementry). Park there. The trip may take about 1 hour 10 minutes. |
Meeting point: | CERN Main Cafeteria, on Sunday at 8.30 am |
Click to see the excursion map.
In the web address "http://wwwinfo.cern.ch/~salicio" you can find the map for this trip.
It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption.
I hope weather conditions will allow an enjoyable excursion!
Cheers!
Jose.
